Beth’s Stance on the Issues

Guns & Public Safety

Gun violence is a public health crisis—and inaction is a choice.

For Beth, this issue is deeply personal. In 2023, she stood with her daughter and members of her community in the aftermath of the Covenant School shooting, supporting families and children impacted by the tragedy. That moment reinforced what she had already come to believe: our leaders are failing to act, and communities are paying the price.

Beth supports common-sense policies that protect children and families while respecting responsible gun ownership, including:

  • Universal background checks

  • Safe storage laws

  • Ending permitless carry

  • Restrictions on assault-style weapons

She has worked alongside local advocacy groups, contributed to data transparency efforts around gun violence, and used her platform to push for accountability in state leadership. Beth believes that meaningful action on gun safety is essential to protecting Tennessee families.

Education

Supports strong, fully-funded public education

Every child—regardless of zip code—deserves access to a high-quality public education.

Beth is firmly opposed to voucher programs that divert public funding away from public schools. She believes these programs weaken the system for the majority of students while benefiting a small number of families who already have access to private education.

Her priorities include:

  • Raising teacher and staff pay

  • Fully funding public schools

  • Expanding access to early childhood education

  • Ensuring inclusive classrooms with the resources every student needs to succeed

Beth understands that strong public schools are the foundation of strong communities. She is committed to protecting public education and ensuring that every child in Tennessee has the opportunity to thrive.

Healthcare

Supports accessible, affordable, and patient-centered care

Healthcare decisions should be made by individuals and their families—not the government.

Beth’s commitment to healthcare access is personal. After caring for her aging mother, she experienced firsthand how difficult it is to navigate complex systems like Medicare. She understands the strain placed on families—especially those caring for both children and aging parents.

Her priorities include:

  • Expanding access to affordable healthcare

  • Protecting women’s healthcare and reproductive rights

  • Supporting caregivers and the “sandwich generation”

  • Improving access to care for older adults

Beth believes a stronger Tennessee means ensuring that every family has access to the care they need without unnecessary barriers.

Infrastructure & Community Investment

Supports sustainable and responsible growth

Strong communities require thoughtful investment in infrastructure.

Beth is focused on:

  • Maintaining and improving essential infrastructure

  • Protecting and expanding the tree canopy

  • Addressing power grid and utility concerns

  • Ensuring long-term sustainability in community planning

She understands that infrastructure decisions impact everything from quality of life to economic growth—and she is committed to making sure those decisions are made responsibly.

Equity & Opportunity

Everyone deserves a fair shot

Beth believes that government should work for everyone—not just those with access, privilege, or power.

She is committed to:

  • Expanding opportunity across communities

  • Ensuring fair access to resources and services

  • Supporting policies that strengthen families and local communities

Beth’s approach is rooted in her experience as a nonprofit leader and community advocate—working directly with people to understand their needs and deliver real solutions.

Economic Stability & Working Families

Supports families trying to make it work

Beth understands the realities facing working families—because she has lived them alongside her neighbors and community.

Her priorities include:

  • Supporting policies that reduce financial strain on families

  • Strengthening local economies

  • Ensuring resources are allocated where they are most needed

She believes leadership should be focused on making everyday life more manageable for families—not more difficult.

A Candidate Who Listens and Takes Action

These issues brought Beth to the table—but they are just the beginning.

Beth is committed to:

  • Listening to constituents

  • Working alongside community members and organizations

  • Building coalitions across Tennessee

She believes that lasting change comes from engagement, action, and shared vision.
